Hi, I'm Kevin Coyle
I turn coffee, math, and ideas into code. Welcome to my portfolio.
About
Me
Originally from Fresno, California. I currently call Honolulu home. My professional resume is in the link below but the story that might be harder to glean from it: I have spent the last decade in machine learning and AI. I have been really fortunate to be able to work on hard problems with great people.
I have got an awesome family - they are in the photo above, minus our dog and several cats. I am trying to figure out how to surf, but I also like to just hang on the beach and play volleyball. I play a lot of golf and I really like to watch basketball.

My
Skills
Modeling
I would say that coding in Python and R, building machine learning models, is my bread and butter.
Data Storage
I am comfortable in a wide variety of data stores from SQL to NoSQL, single node to distributed. I have worked in databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses across a variety of vendors. Just point me in the direction and I likely have used it!
ML Ops
I have helped other data scientists and machine learning engineers create solutions for ML monitoring and deployment including dashboards
Cloud
I am comfortable across the three main cloud providers. I am certified in a few of them.
Mobile and Web Development
I have been learning fullstack web development skills. This portfolio website is Next JS and some of my projects started as technical solutions that were looking for problems.
My Experience
Here are some of my work experiences where I've turned challenges into accomplishments, making things happen.
A&MPLIFY
2023 - PresentData Science Manager
A&MPLIFY is a digital transformation company that exists inside of a larger company called Alvarez and Marsal. I work on the AI and Analytics team, and most of my work centers on bringing LLM based applications to prod.
Databricks
2020 - 2023Technical Curriculum Developer
At Databricks, I worked on teaching developers how to use the Databricks platform to do distributed computation. I liked working on Data Engineering and Apache Spark stuff and had a fantastic time learning from a bunch of really smart people.
Capgemini
2018-2020Senior Data Scientist
At Capgemini, I was predominately aligned with the Media and Entertainment division on the Data and AI team. I got to work on some really awesome machine learning and modeling problems at Warner Brothers - predicting box office revenue, creating lift models, and predicting home entertainment revenue on streaming platforms like Apple TV, Amazon Prime, et al. for different departments.
Alo Yoga
2017 - 2018Data Scientist
At Alo, I sat on the web team, but really, we were like the digital team. We were responsible for the site (Shopify) and also email marketing (there was another team responsible for social media, and I worked cross functionally with them often). I worked on some really impactful projects and some straightforward business analytics projects. I also learned how to do crow pose for more than 20 seconds.
My
Testimonials
Nick Beaudoin
nickb
Kevin is my go to resource for not just AI and machine learning knowhow. He is my go to for everything software related. Truly a unicorn.
Ted Villacorte
theodorevillacorta
I worked with Kevin at Warner Brothers on building internal analytics tooling -- I was his client. He was the consummate professional, able to anticipate our questions and needs, and came prepared to deliver and present results to our non-technical stakeholders in a meaningful way. He is a strong collaborator and thought partner, and I would work with him in the future.
